Week 10

Welp another one down my friends!! Hope the hint of big news hasn’t ruined your week, haha,

SURPRISE, I am a trainer now! A trainer even though I haven't even finished my training as a greenie as myself. I still have 6 weeks left of being an official greenie… not sure why, but I guess I grew up faster than they thought!! It’s one of the rarest things as a missionary so I guess that’s the news ahha! Wish me and my new greenie luck!

His name is John Bronson Dille, and yes, I’m known for giving nicknames to all the missionaries so yes, I already have a nickname for him, haha well, l multiple names, but pickle is the main… you know? “dille pickle” dill pickle…. haha anyways he is now my greenie that I get to raise in the one and only barn haha. He's awesome! Got that greenie fire to get out there and get going.

Work is going very well out here in Clear Creek ward. We joke that the ward is going to burn…. green haha! We have a lot in common and I am excited to get to work! I asked him the first time I met him how long he thought I had been in the field. He’s like “umm probably like 15 months…” I was like “umm ya nope, try 6 weeks haha” he was very very surprised when I said that haha anyways! We are going to have to train each other.

This week has been kind of a rainy week as in literal rain and then kinda rainy with lessons. Everything is just low and dark right now. A lot of our investigators are going through divorce, death, job loss, etc. Just hard things. It has felt overall just very gloomy with everyone and it’s been very hard to try and find lessons with people and when we do, they fall through every single time. But hey, positive, it’s been raining like every day and I LOVE THE RAIN!! I have been waiting so long to experience some rain here in Texas and I got it yay! We have been just tracting a ton and have had some funny stories and some pretty awesome success with that haha.

A mission… it’s FUN! It’s not something where it’s like enduring to the end. It really is something you can ENJOY to the end! I play baseball and in baseball when we are up to bat we have something called a walk up song. It is supposed to get you pumped up and it’s fun to listen to the cool songs. I have kind of switched that over to door knocking haha!! I have myself a walk-up-the-door-dance kind of thing. Sometime it is like a moonwalking to the door and doing a 180 and then knocking! Cringy and weird, I know, but with the doors you get slammed in your face and with all the hardships from a mission, you have to put those fun, positives, vibes in there! Making the song, “You’re Welcome” from Moana, into a missionary song… “I see what’s happening ya… your face to face with missionaries and its strange, open the door and let’s teach! Yes, it’s really us, the missionaries, breathe it in, I know it’s a lot the tag, the BOM, but you’re staring at your salvation… what can i say except YOU’RE BAPTIZED!!” haha. Overall my point through is this, a mission is FUN!! I am so grateful the opportunity to be out here and spread the joy and happiness of the gospel to everyone around me!!

Quote for the week “first I obey, then I understand”. This can be taken in many ways, for MANY different situations and aspects but I want all of you to find this quote in your own way. For me, it’s being an obedient missionary because obedience brings the sweetest of blessings! I love you all so much and am so grateful for everyone who got me here to this point of where I am today!! Ether 12:27, best scripture out there;)*thanks Bishop Solomon*
