Week 22-24

First off, hi… and second, yes I’m alive, haha, and third, I am so sorry for not writing an email for these past 2-3 weeks! I’ll get better at it and find the groove again. haha     Week 22-23 ish     So, the last time you all heard from me I was living with the zone leaders temporary and serving both the YSA ward and my Clear Creek ward. Transfers were on the 5th of Jan and I surprisingly went back to Clear Creek with a new companion named Elder Johnson! He has been out now for 19 months and is from Vegas!     We picked him up on Wednesday but because we our truck is STILL in the repair shop, we spent a lot of time goal setting and talking about pasts and what we want to change going forward as we serve with one another! We have also been working on cleaning up our area book and still more goal setting. In our first 4 days together we put 4 people on baptismal dates! What a start to our companionship. Dear Brother and Sister Mortensen,   We gratefully acknowledge the appointment of your son, Elder Mortensen, to serve as the District Leader of the Creek District. He has received this assignment because of his faithful and obedient service of the Lord. His demonstration of missionary skills and his genuine concern for others qualify him for this work. As a District Leader, Elder Mortensen will supervise and inspire the missionaries within the District as well as continue to care, along with his companion Elder Mark Johnson, for their own proselyting area. He will also interview candidates for baptism and make sure that the welfare of the missionaries is in harmony with the accepted standards on the mission.   We are grateful for your son and his dedicated, selfless service to the Lord. May the Lord richly bless you and Elder Mortensen as you prayerfully support this sacred work. Sincerely,   Jeffery G Chapman President Texas Fort Worth Mission

Here’s two weeks worth…     I am still in a trio with the zone leaders and serving in two areas. My comps and I have all been sick the last couple weeks and missed out on some Christmas dinners and New Year’s celebrations because we are trying to not get others sick. We are not sure what we are sick with (we have all been negative on Covid tests) but between the congestion, coughs, and just wanting to throw up all the time, we moved some couches from the basement and into the garage, set up a projector and watched some inspirational videos from the church and just sat dead as the day, sick.     I’ll be honest the holidays are the best time to get sick cause everyone is gone but it was still very depressing not being able to work as best as we could.     I...
