Week 54

Ahh ye another week down...couple feelings about hitting the year mark and my mission as a whole. Ive grown a lot and been so blessed. Let me share a few.     First off being, wow, the one thing in the world you can never get back... time... how precious is every minute we spend, every hour, every interaction, every activity, every friend, every job, we have such limited time. Make the most of every moment you have... this has been motivating factor for myself but at the same time some stress too.     Another one, is that we as human beings - but especially as members of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints - everything we do matters, the way we talk, walk, live, breathe, you know what i mean, we each have an opportunity to have the light of Christ with us. But it depends on our agency - are we going to spend our time wasting ourselves or building ourselves...!     As a missionary you have a lot of time to study, ponder, think, and pray. I think ...

Week 53

So a very quick email this week. I have a new companion named Elder Hartman. He has been out for about 9 months now. It has been a good 8 hours together so far. haha We have talked a lot about what we are wanting to accomplish!     We had zone conference this week and finally, the day I have been waiting for my whole mission, haha, the mission president called repentance to the whole mission. Yay! Finally, holy cow. I've wanted this to happen forever! Finally told everyone to get over yourself and get out of this covid mindset and it was just beautiful!       I know this is a quick email because we had to do new transfers today (Monday) so we weren't able to have a lot of time to write this email! But love y'all! have a great week and never forget you are always loved!      Till next week, Elder Mortensen outta here!      Johnathan.mortensen@missionary.org Texas Fort Worth Mission 1331 Airport Freeway Ste 305 Euless, TX 76040

Week 52

YAYAYAY!! This is going to be short email but the thing is, it is still an email so it counts. This was the first week that we were covering both wards and we finally got to see what the Watagua area is all about. I like to call it the Wakanda area, haha, just to keep things always positive and fun! Which is just how missions are supposed to be if you make them:) It is up to you what your outcome of you mission is!  We met with the ward council in our new ward to discuss needs and then met with the bishop for dinner and we had a 3 hour dinner with him just talking about all the miracles that are about to shower upon the ward! We are so excited! We got the list of unbaptized youth and are going to be working on that as soon as we can. We have been visiting with some members and have been finding out a lot. So many miracles! It's such an amazing opportunity we all have to serve the lord! Tomorrow I hit my 12 month mark, or the 1 year mark, the halfway point, checkpoint number 1. it...

Week 51

Well!? Who's surprised we got an email sent out from me? I'll be straight forward, I 100000% surprised myself. Haha. Transfers are this Wednesday and Elder Dixon and I will stay in our same apartment and cover the Hurst ward as well as cover a new second area. We were just getting use to serving a solo ward again and now we are back to two. It is tough because we want to be 100% attentive to our wards and it is hard when our time is split. Respect to any missionaries who are covering a stake or multiple wards. I can’t imagine how hard that would be.     But covering two areas also has a FAT pro, and that is that we have a CAR! And in the heat of Texas, a car is such a FAT pro. OHHHH, and another BEAST pro with serving two wards is that our food calendars are gonna get full! Oh yeah!       So Jill... :((((( she probably won't be baptized for another quite a bit. She's golden beyond gold but there were some worries in the bishopric so we are pausing for a bit. ...
