Week 60

HEYYYYY y’all! What's good? It's Elder Mortensen back at it again with another week down. Weeks are flying by faster and faster as time goes on. wow!! 

 

 

This week was pretty good. We've been struggling to still find those who are prepared, but that has not stopped us from trying. We've been coordinating with different districts, zones, and mission wide for new finding ideas and have been trying some out and we've seen some miracles but still no fruit but we do press forward? "Always and Forever". 

 

 

One night we decided to do some pick-up basketball. We meet two, 15 yr old kids and got their phone numbers. The following day we reached out and said pull up were here and bring your friends. He fired back and said I don't got no homies but I'll pull up... and here's the miracle... he walks in the gate 30 minutes later and I kid you not, like 30 kids followed him... it was like... I don't even know it was so powerful! hahahaa He said that he just found a group of kids over in a field and told them to come pull up and hoop. We played 3 back to back games and it was so fun. Me and Elder Lunt were on the same team... and we'll leave that there, the oops and potential dunks were too good.

 

 

We were able to get back in contact with Dana and continued to talk about her commitments to being baptized. She said she had already read about half of the Book of Mormon which is a little too crazy to be true but wow, what a miracle!! 

 

 

Pickleball has been another way of finding that we have tried. Only problem on TCC campus is the students and Tongans will come out and play late at night and WOW do we get just absolutely WHOOOOOPED and very quickly humbled. First night we walked in and like everyone looked at us and said "heyyyyy elders" we looked at each other and were like what Is happening. hahaha Turns out, there are SO many Tongan members that play every night, especially Wednesday night when all kids are at youth activities! It's so embarrassing how bad we get killed... we thought we were good and the Lord definitely humbled us. hahahahaha!!

 

 

We did find this one older man and it’s just cool to see that if we would've knocked on his door, he totally would've slammed it, but with pickleball we are starting on ground zero. We are just some dudes playing pickleball and talking! It's been cool to see all the natural ways to approach the gospel. Makes me ponder about what kind of a member I'm going to be when I get home! It's a testimony to me that we ALL can share in any place any time in any natural way! The last days are here (general conference) and we are the people ALLLLLL of us are preparing these brothers and sisters of Christ for the second coming. It is NO coincidence that president Nelson showed Jesus Christ appearing to the people in the Book of Mormon (conference). Jesus Christ the son of God is coming and we need to help others prepare for the second coming! * D&C 88:81 * We must share the message of Jesus Christ with everyone we can!!
